June 10 - This is a free event, hosted by the Early Childhood Coalition, to raise awareness and to assist the many children in Bastrop County who have everyday struggles with stress, food insecurity, and lack of access to resources.

August 11, 2023 - We connect volunteers and organizations so they can make a bigger impact. This event will feature local county-wide organizations that are looking for volunteers. You'll meet people from volunteer organizations across the county all in one place to learn more about what they do, how they serve, and how you can join them to further their impact in the county.

Early Detection: The Key to Saving Mothers


Mother’s Day is a time to celebrate and honor the women who have made an impact in our lives. But for many families affected by cancer, it can also be a time of sadness and worry. To help prevent this, the Bastrop County Breast Health Initiative urged women to make a Pinky Promise this Mother’s Day and beyond to get screened for breast cancer.

Nourish: A Sustainable Food Systems Collaborative Launches!


We are excited about the work of our newest collaborative: Nourish, a Sustainable Food System Collaborative. On May 17, the Central Texas Food Bank (CTFB) Strategic Insights and Advocacy teams joined us for a conversation about sustainable and accessible food systems in the Bastrop County area at the Bastrop County Commissioners Court meeting. We heard from CTFB leadership on regional food system planning and learned about their Central Texas Food System Dashboard, the latest tool in our arsenal to create a FRESH future for our community.

BCC Receives Help Me Grow Funding


In May 2023, Bastrop County Cares (BCC) received Preschool Development Grant funds (through the Department of Family and Protective Services Prevention and Early Intervention) and Help Me Grow National to develop a Bastrop County Help Me Grow (HMG) site.
