Talking Men's Health

Throughout June, Men’s Health Network shares education, amplifies awareness, and distributes free resources to improve the health of men, boys, and the families who care about them. This year’s theme —“Partners in Care: For Better Lifespans Across the Lifespan”—highlights the role that families, communities, and care partners play in supporting healthier outcomes for men.

Partner Spotlight - Kendra Scott Jewelry

We are pleased to spotlight Kendra Scott and Kendra Scott Jewelry who have partnered with us for some of our major events. A little about this inspiring brand: In 2002, just three months after her first son was born, Kendra launched her eponymous jewelry line with only $500. Her vibrant personality and unique eye for design captivated Austin businesses and customers alike, paving the way for a billion-dollar lifestyle brand that’s celebrated for its design and material innovation, vibrant use of color, and signature silhouettes. Her company continues to operate out of Austin, Texas, where she resides with her family and many beloved animals.

Volunteer in Focus - Carla Alpizar

Carla Alpizar is a wife, mother of three teenagers, and a dedicated healthcare professional with over 16 years of experience serving patients and families. She is passionate about creating spaces where people feel supported, encouraged, and empowered to grow—both personally and spiritually. She says, "The way I love people, persevere through hard seasons, and continue to lead with faith and compassion comes from my mother and I honor her legacy through it."

Her involvement with the Cleft of the Rock Foundation’s Parenting on Purpose program, has allowed Carla to help parents build stronger relationships with their children by leading with intentionality, faith, and compassion. As a parent herself, she understands the joys and challenges of raising children in today’s world and believes that community, mentorship, and shared wisdom are powerful tools for strengthening families.

Carla enjoys encouraging others, fostering meaningful connections, and helping create environments where families can learn, grow, and thrive together.

When she is not working or volunteering, Carla enjoys investing time in her family, supporting community initiatives, and encouraging others through faith-based mentorship and outreach.

Book of the Month

We live in a world that’s obsessed with talent. We celebrate gifted students in school, natural athletes in sports, and child prodigies in music. But admiring people who start out with innate advantages leads us to overlook the distance we ourselves can travel. We underestimate the range of skills that we can learn and how good we can become. We can all improve at improving. And when opportunity doesn’t knock, there are ways to build a door.

Hidden Potential offers a new framework for raising aspirations and exceeding expectations.

Movie of the Month

MICHAEL is the cinematic portrayal of the life and legacy of one of the most influential artists the world has ever known. The film tells the story of Michael Jackson's life beyond the music, tracing his journey from the discovery of his extraordinary talent as the lead of the Jackson Five, to the visionary artist whose creative ambition fueled a relentless pursuit to become the biggest entertainer in the world. Highlighting both his life off-stage and some of the most iconic performances from his early solo career, the film gives audiences a front-row seat to Michael Jackson as never before. This is where his story begins.

Volunteer

Cleft of the Rock is looking forward to even greater things. We have been able to accomplish a lot over a short period with the help of volunteers just like you! We are growing! Grow with us! Helping does not have to be complicated. Just use what you know how to do to help. That's called volunteering! We are always in need of new volunteers and would greatly appreciate your time in any way that you can contribute. If you have teenagers who need hours for school, any time they volunteer with us can count towards their goal...even virtually.
