High Lawn Farm Summertime is peaking, and the Berkshires are bustling! We hope to see you all at the farm for a refreshing cone on the lawn and a visit with the cows this season. Keep MOO’ving! Third Annual 5K Race Join us at High Lawn Farm on Sunday, July 27th, for the third annual Keep MOO’ving 5K Race in collaboration with the Berkshire Running Foundation. All of the proceeds of this race will be donated to Berkshire Bounty, a local non-profit organization that seeks to strengthen food security in Berkshire County. This scenic race course runs along the rolling farm pastures and past Laurel Lake, with beautiful views of the Berkshire hills. Special prizes will be given to for the top male and female finishers, plus all finishers will receive a FREE High Lawn ice cream, and the first 100 registered will receive a free race T-Shirt. Race begins at 8:30 am on Sunday, July 27th, 2025.


Chesterwood Free Community Ice Cream Social for Children! (July 26, 3-4pm) Close Encounters with Music The acclaimed music organization Close Encounters with Music presents an ensemble program with the highly talented students of the Berkshire High Peaks Festival for Outstanding Musicians (July 27, 3-4pm). On July 30, 5:30-6:30pm, Shakespeare & Co. Open Rehearsal of the Taming of the Shrew Get up close to the cast and director of Shakespeare & Co's production of The Taming of the Shrew as they invite you in to an open rehearsal in the intimate setting of the historic studio.  Step into the world of Shakespeare’s The Taming of the Shrew, with its timeless themes of identity, gender roles, and the clash of wills. Meet the fiery and fiercely independent Katherine, whose spirited nature meets its match in the cunning Petruchio as they embark on a hilarious and clever exploration of love, power, and transformation. The Taming of the Shrew offers a compelling – if not at times zany – look at relationships, and social norms, making it a must-see for anyone who loves classic comedy with a bit of bite.

The full staged production will be held at Shakespeare & Company from August 14-24. Directed by Nicole Ricciardi. Mahaiwe Performing Arts Center Paul Reiser Comedian, actor, television writer, author and musician Paul Reiser is one of Hollywood’s most prolific creatives. Voted by Comedy Central as one of the Top 100 Comedians of All Time, Reiser regularly performs sold-out standups at venues nationwide (July 25, 8pm) 100 Years of Movies: Bonnie and Clyde (1967) (July 26, 7pm). Norman Rockwell Museum Summer Saturdays for Family, a fun and interactive programming inspired by the art of Norman Rockwell and Walter Wick, creator of the I SPY books for children. Berkshire Theatre Group Extended due to Popular Demand Out of Character Added performance July 27, 2pm, July 28, 7pm, July 29, 7pm, Unicorn Theatre, Stockbridge, MA. Jacob's Pillow Week 5 of the Festival continues (July 24-28) Jacob’s Pillow invites audiences of all ages to experience MOMIX—the dancer-illusionist company famous for their colorful and inventive touring spectacles. This marks the first appearance by MOMIX at Jacob’s Pillow since their debut in 2002. The company will perform in the Ted Shawn Theatre from Wednesday, July 24 through Sunday, July 28—including a special Thursday matinee, added to the performance schedule due to popular demand. The company’s performance of VIVA MOMIX, a collection of their most astonishing work, will showcase the company’s extraordinary use of optical illusions. Week 6 of the Festival (July 30-August 3) Jacob’s Pillow Dance Festival welcomes the Afro Latin Dance Company Sekou McMiller & Friends in Their Ted Shawn Theatre Debut, Korean Star Choreographer Eun-Me Ahn Brings the U.S. Premiere of Dragons to the Doris Duke Theatre, Bulareyaung Dance Company, Kara Jenelle & KaJe Movement Collective, and Pua Ali’i ‘Ilima will perform on the outdoor Henry J. Berkshire Botanical Garden Family Fridays: The Hissing Booth A unique, up-close-and-personal experience with snakes, reptiles and invertebrates. Learn about reptile physiology (what makes a reptile a reptile), specific fun facts about the invited species and their individual personalities, how to care for them, and even some notes about the animals with special needs (July 25, 11am-noon). Clark Art Performing Arts: Williamstown Theatre Festival Reading Series: White Girls Gang This reading series (formerly called Fridays@3) brings playwrights, directors, and professional actors together for one week of rehearsal and a public presentation. Readings are both a crucial step in the development of new work for artists and an opportunity for audiences to get closer to the creative process. The series kicks off with a reading of White Girls Gang, written by Rianna Simons and directed by Gus Heagerty. Featuring Audre Lorde, a book club, and five screaming white women, White Girls Gang is about a book club gone disastrously wrong (July 29, 7-8pm). The Mount Edith Wharton's Home Ghost Tour of the Mount (July 25, 8:30-10:30pm), A VeryLarge Poem with WordxWord WordXWord returns to The Mount with dozens of poets collaborating to create and perform A Very Large Poem. Created by stitching together dozens of short poems by poets ranging in age and style, A Very Large Poem will travel in an arc around the audience. This event will take place in The Mount’s Event Tent, rain or shine (July 27, 5-6pm). Summer Author Series runs July 7 – August 26. Talks are Mondays at 4pm and Tuesdays at 11am. This year’s theme is trailblazers. The eight-week series will highlight the stories of groundbreaking visionaries—scientists, activists, thought leaders, and artists who have broken barriers and reshaped the world. On July 28 & 29, author Tess Chakkalakal presents A Matter of Complexion: The Life and Fictions of Charles W. Chesnutt (St. Martin’s 2025). Charles W. Chesnutt was a force in American literature. His novels and short stories delved deeply into racial and social issues, which were especially poignant in the American South after the Civil War. In A Matter of Complexion: The Life and Fictions of Charles W. Chesnutt, Tess Chakkalakal gives readers the first comprehensive biography of this underappreciated literary figure—the first Black writer whose stories appeared in The Atlantic Monthly and whose books were published by Houghton Mifflin. Through his work as a writer, critic, and speaker, Chesnutt broke into all-white literary establishment, crossing racial barriers and transforming the publishing world (July 28 and 29).
