Celebrate Mendel's Birthday This Month!
The “father of genetics” Gregor Johan Mendel was born on July 20, 1822. This year celebrates his 199th birthday! Mendel’s studies focused on inheritance using pea plants and established the laws of heredity, and ultimately one of the foundational principles in genetics.
