Genomics: Insights Accepting Submissions
Genome: Unlocking Life’s Code’s online digital publication Genomics: Insights is currently accepting submissions from high school students, post-baccalaureates, graduate students, and postdoctoral trainees through October 18. Genomics: Insights provides a space for the communication of genomics topics and research findings to a general audience. Topics can include an interesting genomics research topic, an article demystifying public perception of a genetics and/or genomics concept regarding a recently published or discussed scientific finding, or an overview of a cutting-edge topic within the field. Practice your science communication skills and write for Genomics: Insights!

NHGRI Hosting Digital Booth at Society for Advancement of Chicanos/Hispanics and Native Americans in Science Conference
The 2021 Society for Advancement of Chicanos/Hispanics and Native Americans in Science (SACNAS) National Diversity in STEM (NDiSTEM) Digitial Conference is being held from Oct. 25-Oct.29. Free Virtual STEM Expo for All from the USA Science and Engineering Festival
The USA Science and Engineering Festival is offering a free virtual STEM expo for K-12 students, educators and families from Oct. 18-Oct. 24. Participate in virtual STEM activities, view interactive exhibits and stage shows, participate in a STEM scavenger hunt and view student projects. Several exhibit zones will be available including health & medicine, natural sciences and chemistry. Don’t miss out and register now!

New Online Exhibit from the National Library of Medicine
The National Library of Medicine at the National Institutes of Health has a new online exhibit titled: “So, What’s New in the Past? The Multiple Meanings of Medical History.” This exhibit is an opportunity to explore some of the ways the history of medicine has been used as a weapon, inspiration, or in politics. Scroll through the pages and click through the gallery of images to view and read examples. Learn about the different stories and truths the history of medicine can tell!
