Hello, Scouters!

Start planning today for UNPLUG AND RECONNECT
the first council-wide challenge of the year!

All Scouting units are asked to participate by hosting a total of three in-person, outdoor events in April and May following the themes described below.

The goal of this challenge is to grow your membership by providing Scouting opportunities to existing families while also engaging new families.

Host these events as a unit or collaborate with other units in your area to
Unplug and…
…Reconnect with Nature
(April 22-25)

Host a hike at a local park or attend an LEC event on Earth Day Weekend. If you choose to host a hike at a local park, send us the details so we can spread the word
…Reconnect with Community
(May 1st-2nd)

Provide service to your community by participating in the worldwide initiative Scouts Trash the Trash Day. Participate as a group or as individual families. Be sure to share the positive difference you make
…Reconnect with Friends
(any weekend in April or May)

Host a social gathering or competition-based activity. Whether you plan to play games at the park, launch rockets, or set up several Scouting stations, make sure you keep it simple and fun!

Your next step is to start planning your campaign!
Over the coming weeks, Lake Erie Council volunteers and staff will provide additional information and resources to help you spread the message about the
Unplug and Reconnect challenge.

Stay tuned on social media to see how we, the Lake Erie Council family, work together to keep Scouting strong in our communities.
Invite friends and family members to join you for one, two, or all three events!

This is a great opportunity to safely introduce Scouting to others, reengage former and current members, and to have fun while enjoying the great outdoors!

If you have questions about this event or if you need any Scouting assistance,
