The 152nd General Assembly has now adjourned for the year. We witnessed some unprecedented and controversial actions by the legislature that creates more doubt than certainty within the business community. Tyler Micik’s session wrap up can be found here, along with details on many of the bills we supported, opposed, and monitored.
All of this makes it clear that elections matter and business leaders need to be deeply engaged in policymaking decisions. Every business leader needs to know their state representative and senator on a “first name” basis. If this is not the case, please reach out to Tyler so we can help make the appropriate introductions.
The September primary will be here soon enough, and for all intents and purposes, many elections will be decided that day. The candidate filing deadline is one week away. Check to see who is running where you work and live and get to know the candidates and their positions on issues that matter the most to you.
