Monica
originally wanted to be a pediatrician. Instead, when she was 17, her father convinced the Carver High School graduate to apply to MICA, where she is now a senior majoring in Painting. Earlier in 2019, she sold out a solo show at the Los Angeles gallery Band of Vices and in 2020 she will have a show in Baltimore’s City Hall galleries.

Mixed Media Speaker Series
Thursday, February 6
Poet, critic, and translator, Susan Stewart will headline the 1st Mixed Media event of the year on February 6 in the Brown Center. Stewart will also be giving a poetry reading at noon on Friday, Feb. 7 in Lazarus Auditorium. She will read from
Cinder: New and Selected Poems, as well as selections from newer work.
Both events are free and open to the public.

Each year, more than 50 employers come to MICA’s Internship + Career Fair to meet with students and alumni, review their resumes and portfolios, and hold informal interviews for a wide range of art and design career opportunities. Students and alumni in all disciplines are encouraged to attend, as past attendees have secured many job and internship hires!
