Daniel Shaffer’s ’14 (Illustration BFA) freelance work has landed him clients like The Cartoon Network, The New York Times, the Washington Post and more. In a January feature in Creative Review, Daniel discusses the joys and challenges of building a career in art as a freelance artist.

Lola Flash ’81 (Photography BFA) was honored by the LGBTQ+ arts organization Queer|Art for sustained achievement as her decades long career in photography and community activism centers marginalized people and “challenges invisibility and preconceptions about identity.” Read more in this NPR feature.

Arts for Learning Maryland is looking for teaching artists for their expanded summer programming in Baltimore. Those without prior experience will be trained through the Summer Artists Corps professional development program and provide a stipend for doing so. Learn more and apply here.
