Untrim-A-Tree/Volunteer for HolidayFest
The winter holidays are a very special time in Occoquan with our own particular mixture of modern and traditional charm. One constant is our commitment to those who are less fortunate. This year that commitment continues with our annual "Untrim-A-Tree program." Formerly organized by recently-retired business owner Betsy Merklein, this year Betsy continues her involvement supported by Town staff and in partnership with Volunteer Prince William. Members of the public are encouraged to sponsor a child by purchasing two new unwrapped gifts valued at up to $75 combined. A tree inside Town Hall is decorated with tags that include a child's name, age, clothing size, and toy interest. Collect tags, go shopping, and bring the unwrapped new gifts to Town Hall, Patriot Scuba, or Hitchcock Paper for drop off with the tag. Gifts should be dropped off no later than November 30. For more information go to https://www.occoquanva.gov/2021/11/09/un-trim-a-tree/.

If you are of a mind to volunteer, the Town's HolidayFest this year runs from November 20 through December 12 with several events to celebrate the season. Two of these events -- the Holiday Artisan Market and the stage reading of A Christmas Carol -- are in need of volunteers to help with logistics. You can sign up to volunteer at the following link: https://form.jotform.com/213096427347156.
