Hi Viz is a big seller and we have ANOTHER new closeout deal from Speed and Strength on the Hi Viz color.  For some reason, this is the only color being discontinued in this model.  I sure don't know why.... it is my favorite and has been our best selling color. But anyway...

The Laguna suit offers a full roster of great features such as external armor, intake vents, a speed hump and removable liner and more.  We've got a complete review and a photo gallery full of close up pictures to show you

BUT... this closeout is almost gone and we have reduced the price once more to move out the larger sizes that are left.

Here's what we have left:

Black: Sizes 46 thru 52

Blue: Size 52

MSRP: $999.00

Now:  $380 Shipped!

Same story on the Laguna jacket... we only have larger sizes left and now they are reduced even further.  We have sizes 46 thru 52, so this is a steal for a big boy!

Be sure and measure your chest and belly if you want to order one of these jackets.  It is a trim race fit and you'll want to compare your measurements to the chart we provide.  The jackets fit as advertised, but a trim cut on a jacket like this isn't as forgiving as a more casual style jacket.

The jacket has good visibility at night with reflective strips and includes CE approved armor.

What's left:
Black:
Size 50
Blue:  Sizes 46, 48, 50
Red:  Sizes 48, 50, 52

MSRP:  $399.99

Now: $149 Shipped!

New Product Reviews, Pics and Fit Check:

Icon Citadel Jacket, Pants and Gloves    Jacket:  The Citadel will be a great street jacket for mild to hot weather use. The shell is about half solid textile and about half flow thru mesh material, so this style will flow a LOT of air. And the overall weight of the jacket is fairly light so it won't feel too "heavy" for summer use. You will be able to use the removable thermal vest to add just a touch of insulation if the temps are a bit less. I'd say, overall this is about a two season style... great for the heat of summer, part of the spring and part of the fall. And part of feeling "light" comes from the use of the D30 armor. This armor is CE rated but is not as thick and bulky as most other jacket armor. I really like it. Storage is typical in this jacket.. there are a couple hand warmer pockets on the front as you would expect and inside without the liner there is one zip wallet pocket and a patch pocket. If you are wearing the liner, you get a bit better assortment of pockets (which is strange... typically the pocket arrangement in an insulated liner will mirror that of the jacket liner). Nighttime reflectives are really good. We took a couple "night shots" you can see if you take the "View Larger Images" link on the product page. Overall a nice jacket... just pay attention to our sizing advice and you'll find this to be a very easy-to-wear jacket.

Pants:  ...These pants are primarily designed as overpants, and while you could go "commando" (as the Icon catalog cleverly says), the overall cut is loose and they have the longer leg zippers to facilitate wearing them over other pants, so they will feel better to you as overpants. I really like the waist belt design. The belt is VERY substantial and totally adjustable. It reminds me of a military style belt... very thick nylon with one of those metal buckles with teeth... one caveat though.... the belt material will be snagged a bit by the metal teeth and will fray with use. I think it would take a long time to affect function, but aesthetically you can see it and it may be a bother to some folks. We got a snag on the belt started just during the photo shoot. Quite frankly, I'm not sure how Icon would react to a warranty claim about this and I'd prefer to not have anybody claim it as defective especially since I'm offering full disclosure on the issue. But anyway, the belt does function well. The pants combine solid textile and mesh and for the most part they will flow a lot of air. Some early promo material mentions a waterproof liner, but that is not the case... these aren't waterproof. You get two rear hip pockets for storage. The pants come with D30 knee armor which is soft and comfortable and the knee pocket they go in is a "three way" pocket so you can pick the height position in one of three places. There are stirrup straps on the leg ends if you find the pants blow up your leg and that bugs you. Otherwise take off the stirrup straps and throw them in a drawer. A couple oddities... there are two grommet holes at the end of the leg and I couldn't figure out their function. Icon told me they were "drain holes". Hmmm... a mesh pant doesn't hold water, so neither does that explanation. Sort of reinforces though the idea that these pants might have first been conceived as waterproof. The second oddity is that the leg zippers zip up from the bottom but also down from the top.... the explanation being that you could unzip them partially for venting. Hmmm... they are a mesh pant so why would you need additional venting? Oh well, I wouldn't recommend zipping down from the top because that will negate any knee armor function. Just my advice. Anyway, given the sizing issues, the belt issue and the other couple oddities, I really can't get behind this model.

Gloves:   Sorry folks, I can't recommend these gloves. It started with the Velcro on one of the wrist staps which came unraveled during our photo shoot. Hmmm, well, a defect like that can happen and typically I'll let it go as a "one off" issue.... but in the process of putting on and taking off the gloves for the photos, I discover that the fabric used in and around the fingers snags the hook side of the wrist closure strap pretty aggressively and of course with two gloves on your hands, there really isn't an alternative (except maybe your teeth) in taking at least the first glove off without having that happen. I think that fabric would get snagged and pilled pretty rapidly. Also, I found the wrist strap to be short so that it wasn't easy to extract your hand out of the gloves even when the Velcro is disengaged. And finally, the fit was a bit more tight than normal. And lastly, I wonder why these are waterproof gloves when the Citadel jacket is decidedly a hot weather mesh style with no waterproofing? There are a lot of gloves out there to choose from... so keep looking. (more)

Alpinestars GPX Gloves   When I tried these on for our photo shoot, I immediately liked them. The gloves fit very well and are pre-curved to the riding position, and therefore feel really natural. Parts of this glove are taken from some of Alpinestars racing gloves... for example the hard plastic slider in the palm area (designed to slide rather than grab when your hand hits the ground at speed), and the molded knuckle protection. Also there is race technology in the pinkie finger area. The third and fourth fingers are tied together to help prevent damage to the smallest and most delicate finger, and on the outside of the pinkie there is extra leather and a small plastic impact protector. The fingers are assembled with external seams which is much more comfortable than internally sewn fingers. But what I really liked about this glove is the part-gauntlet design. There is enough of a gauntlet to give some coverage to the outer wrist and to give you something to grab onto to put the gloves on, but not enough to interfere with your jacket sleeves. These gloves will still be easy-on/off and so I think street riders of all kinds will really like this style. I'm also a fan of the new hot color combos. Sharp.   (more)
