Spotlight on our Service Coordinators: Jacque
Before working at Up-to-3, Jacque's most unusual or interesting job was when she was 14. She sold donuts and cookies once a week after school to businesses in an industrial area of Salt Lake City to employees who worked in those buildings. A local bakery would bring crates of donuts and cookies for them to carry on their route, and one of the moms would drive them around, then pick them up after they were done. She did this job for about a year-and-a-half.
Jacque's advice for prospective Up-to-3 candidates is being a team player, bringing your best self and show up to serve those around you.
She was originally drawn to Up-to-3 because she was passionate about working with families, since that's what she studied in college. She loves having a personal approach with the families she works with. Up-to-3 has changed in the years that she's been here. Here are a few examples of those changes:
* Our original building has been demolished and we're in a new building.
* We have new administrative leaders.
* The name of the division has changed.
* Policies and procedures have changed.
* We made it through a world-wide epidemic.
* We stopped doing everything on paper and started doing everything electronically.
Jacque's best vacation ever was going to the Big Island in Hawaii with her entire family. "It was amazing!" Her favorite quote is, "Be the change you want to see in the world," by Mahtama Ghandi. She has has lived in Murray, Utah; Tucson, Arizona; Tampa, Florida; and Logan, Utah. And, her bucket list includes traveling to Europe again.
The most important thing she's learned in the last five years is how to hold space for people instead of feeling like she has to "fix" everything for others.
