How can our Holy Apostles Community take steps to be more sustainable and kind to our environment?

April 2019 Green Tip:

On April 22, we celebrate Earth Day. Presiding Bishop Curry has encouraged all of us to take the 'Care of Creation' Pledge as an example of living the way of Love.

Bishop Fitzpatrick has already signed his commitment. This pledge is based on the Vision Statement created at the 79 th  General Convention. This is a wonderful way for us to support environmental justice by making our own commitment to care for and heal God's creation.Below is a summary of the three elements in the pledge.

There are 3 overarching elements to the pledge: Loving, Liberating and Life-Giving. Read more about the  Care of Creation Pledge and Reflection Guide. Then Meditate on the three elements and think of a simple action you can take for each element.  Sign the pledge   and submit by Easter Sunday, April 21st.

Loving:  We will share stories of concern for the Earth and connect others who care.

Liberating : We will stand with those most vulnerable to environmental degradation and climate change.

Life-Giving : We will change our habits and choices to live more simply, humbly and gently on the Earth.
Let's protect and renew our Earth ~ we can make a difference one person at a time!
