Happiness and Meditation...what meditation can do for you......

For centuries, people have practiced meditation.  Their reasons for doing this vary.  Some do it to gain wisdom, some to become more compassionate, others are in search of a spiritual experience, and some simply want to manage stress and anxiety.  But they all do it because they believe it will somehow lead to a better life.  But is this true?

gratitude band
The Gratitude Band is John Edwards, Andy Weiss, & Winston McCullough
The house band for the UpBeat Caf is the Gratitude Jazz Band. Their jazz influences draw from the likes of John Coltrane, Miles Davis, Thelonious Monk, Keith Jarrett, playing show tunes by George Gershwin, Cole Porter, etc. They also love to play more modern music in a variety styles, as well as funky dance music. The band is interested in using music to connect audiences (and themselves) to the spiritual dimension of life, with a very open mind, nurturing whatever is positive and life-affirming on a personal and social level.
