Happy Hour for the Entrepreneurial/Innovation Community
On February 11th, UpTech will be hosting a happy hour with eZone, NKADD, and The Kentucky Innovation Network.
The event will be held at the Keystone Bar and Grill- Second Floor where there will be food and beer.

The 2013 Reality Check Business Plan Competition
NKU hosts the third annual "Reality Check" Business Plan Competition on February 8 (Friday) and a keynote by Guy Kawasaki, Author, Evangelist and Enchanter.
The Roger Griggs Family Foundation sponsors this annual competition between Northern Kentucky University, University of Cincinnati, Miami University and Xavier University. Eight teams will take part this year for $10,000 in prizes as well as the bragging rights and the "Reality Check" trophy.
This event will be held in the NKU Student Union Ballroom from 11AM- 1:15PM
On February 26th from 4-6 PM, The Circuit is hosting a Beer Tasting at Hofbrauhaus in Newport Sponsored by Peak 10. Make sure to join them in the sampling of all finest beers Germany has to offer! There will also be samplings of traditional beer garden food.
It cost $15.00 for Members and Non-Members to attend so make sure to RSVP. Register in advance or pay at the door with cash, check or credit card. Plenty of parking is available in the Newport on the Levee parking garage.
NKU 2013 Informatics Showcase

On Thursday January 31, 2013 the NKU College of Informatics presented its grandest showcase event of the year "Informatics 1.31.13". The event featured a fast-paced series of presentations and demonstrations by students, faculty and community partners. Featured projects ranged from cyber security to UpTech's very own InstrumentLife! It was a great night celebrating with friends and supporters of the Informatics program. "SoundingBoard" is a program for entrepreneurs to get the opportunity to receive advise from experienced business assistance providers while formulating their business plan. The entrepreneur will have the chance to present their plan to a panel of experts for feedback. The panel that makes up SoundingBoard include: angels, seed capital funds, venture capitalists, accountants, lawyers, intellectual property specialists, seasoned entrepreneurs, business assistance providers, management and marketing specialists, university entrepreneurship specialists and representatives from pillar companies. The entrepreneurs can network with the panelists and audience after they have made their presentation. Presentations will last for 10 minutes, and then 10 minutes of questions and answers. SoundingBoard will provide feedback, guidance and understanding.
