Dear Neighbor:

As we begin the new year we wanted to take a moment to update you on a few things related to the liquefaction project at Field’s Point.

Having secured all of the necessary approvals, you will start to see some activity at the Field’s Point location. Full construction activity related to the installation of the liquefier, subject to final Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) staff review, is not planned to begin until later this Spring.

Most of the activity in the coming weeks will be related to construction preparation and will not be visible outside of the property.
One item you may notice, will be the removal of an unused, building located on the southeast corner of the Fields Point property. This building (see image at right) has no current or future use and has been deemed through the permitting process to have no historical value. Demolition should only take a few weeks and the work will be completed inside the property line.
Several smaller structures will also be removed in the spring of 2019 on the adjacent Allens Avenue property, but will have no relationship to the present or future LNG operations.

Other Project Developments

At the end of December National Grid notified appropriate parties, in accordance with the Short-Term Response Action Plan (STRAP) approval, that construction is imminent on the project. This is a formal requirement of the Public Involvement Plan (PIP) and, in addition to mailed notifications; you will begin to see required signage on the exterior fence of the LNG property. Further information about the STRAP, PIP, and associated activities can be found on Rhode Island Department of Environmental Management’s website for this property ( http://www.dem.ri.gov/programs/wastemanagement/site-remediation/Providence-Gas-Co.php).
If you have any questions, would like to speak with us about this project, please contact us at [email protected] or on our hotline at 888.275.6326. We will respond to your inquiries within 48 hours.
