Dear Neighbor:

As spring approaches we wanted to take a moment to update you on the activities related to the liquefaction project at Fields Point.

Most of the activities you may have seen over the past few months were related to preparation work that was needed in advance of the construction phase of the project. This included the removal of an unused building on the southeast corner of the Fields Point property. Several smaller structures were also removed on the adjacent Allens Avenue property which had no relationship to the present or future National Grid LNG operations.

Having secured all of the necessary approvals for site preparation, we expect the mobilization and groundwork for construction of the liquefier to begin by mid-March. As a result, you will begin to notice more activity on and around the Fields Point site. This will include the arrival of construction equipment, the transportation of gravel and other materials, as well as the ongoing work to remove any outdated auxiliary buildings. As we progress towards new milestones on the project, you can find more updates on our website at www.nationalgridus.com/Fields-Point/.

The project at the Fields Point facility is one of many initiatives National Grid is embarking on to help the entire region move toward an affordable, clean, reliable energy future.
National Grid recognizes that climate change is one of the greatest global challenges we face, and has developed the Northeast 80x50 Pathway to provide a roadmap for our region to meet the aggressive goals set forth by the states in the Northeast to reduce carbon emissions by 80 percent by the year 2050. The Pathway provides a sweeping, multi-faceted formula to achieve significant reductions in the three sectors that drive GHG emissions: electricity generation, transportation, and heating.
