Do you qualify for a Special Enrollment Period?
During the County’s annual Open Enrollment period (October 1 – 14), you have the opportunity to enroll in coverage, add or drop family members from the plan, switch to a different plan, or drop their coverage altogether.
But what happens if you experience a qualifying life event during or after Open Enrollment?
Several qualifying events will trigger special enrollment periods for the County’s health plans. They include marriage, birth or adoption of a child, and involuntary loss of other health coverage.
If you experience a qualifying life event during or after the Open Enrollment period, you’ll be given two enrollment instances to complete.
1. One for the period beginning with your life event through the end of the plan year and
2. A separate event to complete for your Open Enrollment elections for benefits beginning 01/01/2024.
If you experience a life event during Open Enrollment, please email at [email protected] or call 407-836-5661 for instructions on how to complete your second enrollment.
Don’t miss out on your chance to get the benefits you need… It’s Your Choice!
