Walking Tour: Late Fall Bird Walk by the Bronx River

Discover the birds that over-winter on the Bronx River. In addition to the locals that stay all year, several are here only during the winter, including some of the “wintering ducks.”

SANDY MORRISSEY is president of the Bronx River–Sound Shore Audubon Society. She is an avid birder, gardener, golfer, and life Girl Scout, all of which combined to set her path in life. When she bought her first home, she put out a bird feeder and got hooked immediately. She founded and oversees her Audubon chapter’s Eastern Bluebird Project, that started as a three-box trail and now has over 300 nest boxes, with over 50 people helping monitor.
