Mt. Sinai Update 2011: Breast Imaging

This CME program is designed to cover clinical aspects of breast imaging including conventional and digital mammography, breast ultrasound, breast MRI, and interventional procedures, as well as medicolegal issues. The faculty consists of nine nationally and internationally recognized experts. This program of lectures and
panel discussions will be filled with "take home" information that should benefit every breast imaging practice.

This program will cover cutting edge clinical areas for body CT and MR radiologists looking to introduce or improve the use of advanced methods into their practice. The lectures will highlight the current state of the art protocols, indications and results of MRI in different disease processes involving liver, kidneys, pancreas, prostate and bowel. In addition, we have lectures highlighting 3T imaging and diffusion imaging. The CME activity will be given by experts in the field, and will be based on scientific evidence as well as on the speakers' experience. Several clinical cases will be provided.

Mt. Sinai Update 2011: Brain, Spine, Neurovascular and ENT Imaging

This course is designed for neuroradiologists, general radiologists, and clinicians who have an interest in imaging of the brain, spine, and head and neck. The case material shown will include a wide spectrum of the diseases that affect these areas. The specific utilization of CT, MRI, MRS and perfusion-diffusion & permeability imaging in the investigation of these diseases will be discussed. In each section, the imaging protocols, anatomy, pathology, and the clinically relevant differential diagnoses will be reviewed. This course will improve the participant's ability to analyze CT and MR images, to offer a pertinent differential diagnosis, and to be familiar with the newest technologies applied to these regions.

Special attention will be given to Breast MRI and important topical issues such as radiation risk and the USPSTF Guidelines for Screening Mammography, as well as newly evolving technologies such as Tomosynthesis, Phase Contrast Mammography, Whole Breast Ultrasound, and Molecular Imaging.

Essential anatomy and physiology are emphasized that explain imaging findings in disorders of the shoulder, elbow, wrist, hand, hip, knee, and ankle. MR Imaging findings in the assessment of common problems in peripheral joints are compared to those derived from other imaging methods.
