Rancho San Dieguito (RSD) Swim Team Reaches Silver Medal Status by USA Swimming for Back to Back Years
Our Rancho San Dieguito swim team has been recognized as a top 100 club out of 4,000 clubs nationwide! This award comes off the heals of the same recognition in 2020. Club Excellence medals are awarded to teams producing the next generation of elite under-18 swimmers–those bound for college-level swimming and beyond. RSD Swim Team is known for being a pipeline to college-level competitive swimming.
RSD Swimmers Swim the Catalina Channel & Give Back
Seven of our RSD Swimmers set a goal to complete the Catalina Channel Swim, a 22-mile relay starting at Catalina Island and ending at Dana Point. In order to achieve this, the swimmers raised funds to cover their expenses. The self-proclaimed Team Catalina Cruisers spent the summer doing whatever they could think of to reach their financial goal.
The Spirit of Giving
Over 25 Amazon employees participated this past week in a team-building exercise building 6 new children’s bikes. A handful of our BGC San Dieguito kids will be the beneficiaries of their efforts this holiday season.
Beautiful Butterflies at La Colonia
Thanks go to BGC San Dieguito Jr. Board Member Sandro Alberti and Kathleen Drummond from the SeaWeeders garden club in Solana Beach for helping us start our own Monarch Butterfly Pollinator Garden (“Monarca” as translated in Spanish)

The planting ceremony was held Sunday, Oct. 24th at La Colonia Park during the Día de los Muertos (Day of the Dead) celebration where over 3,000 people including BGC San Dieguito members, their families, and the community of Solana Beach gathered in observance. Watch Video
