Central Board Elects New Officers
Lou Caravella has been elected to the office of President of the Central San Pedro Neighborhood Council and Matthew Quiocho is the new Board Vice President.

The remaining Executive Board Positions of Treasurer, Secretary and Outreach & Communications Officer are on the agenda for consideration this coming Tuesday, July 20, 2021.

Join Artist-Teacher Iliana Cuellar for this month's workshop exploring storytelling! What makes a story? Do stories exist only in books and movies? Are TV commercials stories? Who is a storyteller? In this workshop, we will explore our natural knack for storytelling through writing, acting, drawing, and more!

  • Pen/Writing Utensil
  • Your mind and body!

Advance Child Tax Credit Payment Is Here!
Many taxpayers who have children will start receiving advance Child Tax Credit payments from the Federal government over the next several days. This will put hundreds of dollars into the pockets of American families each month for the rest of this year.


LADWP's First-Ever Chief Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Officer 
As part of the ongoing initiatives to advance diversity and equity, Monique Earl has been named the first-ever Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Officer at the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power. Earl will be responsible for the oversight of policies, practices and programs designed to improve diversity and opportunities throughout LADWP and position the agency to better serve communities with the highest needs. As a Senior Assistant General Manager, Earl will also work to provide leadership, guidance and support in the internal and external development and implementation of the department’s Racial Equity Action Initiatives. Healthy Harbor Communities Initiative Grant Program

The Harbor Community Benefit Foundation, in collaboration with the TraPac Appellants, is excited to announce the solicitation of  applications for Round 2 of the Healthy Harbor Communities Initiative Grant Program. The purpose of this grant program, which was first launched in 2020, is to address and mitigate the impacts of Port of Los Angeles and Port-related activity on the health and well-being of San Pedro and Wilmington residents. We are committed to promoting health and creating a healthy environment for those affected by Port operations.

HCBF intends to distribute up to a total of $350,000 in grant awards. We anticipate awarding funds for three proposals, with $250,000 available for one large grant, and the remaining $100,000 available for two grants of $50,000 each. VISIT WEBSITE FOR MORE INFO
