What Is the True Meaning of "No Birth No Death"?
| |
During this commemorative week, we hope you will have time to absorb Thich Nhat Hanh's teachings and to connect with and strengthen your spiritual body.
We have compiled a list of short Dharma talks by Thich Nhat Hanh on what happens when we die - and what happens when we are alive. The list includes the 12-minute clip above, in which Thay describes the true meaning of the Buddhist teaching on no birth and no death.

Gratitude for Thich Nhat Hanh from Our Global Community
We have received thousands of personal sharings from practitioners around the world, with appreciation for Thay and some of the profound ways his teachings have changed our lives. We are deeply moved, and invite you to also touch the vast support of our global community by reading the sharings on our Gratitude for Thich Nhat Hanh page.
| "I’m just a regular guy from Texas. I read about Thay and ordered 'The Pocket Thich Nhat Hanh.' It completely changed my life. I stopped rushing and seeking. I learned to be still and enjoy each moment. Thank you, teacher."

"When my panic attacks were at their worst, Thich Nhat Hanh’s teachings were a healing balm; his words and accessible practices were my medicine. Bodies are temporary. These teachings are eternal. Let’s honor our beautiful teacher by living out these teachings. Let’s keep practicing. Peace."

"I met this loving man in 2008 in the desert … He spoke to a small group of US veterans who were struggling to adapt to our new lives back in the civilian society. What he taught me saved my life … For that I am eternally grateful … and I vow to share freely the powerful teachings he gifted to me with anyone who cares to listen."

"Thay’s teachings helped me heal from chronic depression and anxiety, and experience deep transformation, through direct, simple practice. And I am very grateful that he so carefully prepared his continuation body, in the monks and nuns that are not only continuing but deepening and enriching his legacy, so beautifully. Dear Thay: I know that in your continuation body, you are there for us, and that makes me very happy!"
