Register online via the links below, or sign up in person with our staff at the registers. Unless indicated otherwise, all classes and events are located in the Flatlander Classroom at Common Ground, 300 S. Broadway in the Lincoln Square Mall.

Tuesday, September 4; 4-5pm
Free; registration required
Team Tomatillos is a kids cooking class for first & second graders. In this hour long class, we learn how to read recipes, use kitchen utensils safely, & try new foods!

Community Kitchen w/ Cunningham Township
Tuesday Evenings; 6-8pm
Free; volunteer opportunity
The Cunningham Township Supervisor's Office started an urban garden! This local agency provides assistance for our low-no income neighbors, now including fresh foods from the garden. The co-op hosts weekly food packaging project in the classroom--but we need your help freezing, dehydrating, and canning the week's harvest. Stop by the classroom to make an incredible difference in Urbana!

Thursday, September 6; 6-8pm

Back by popular demand, Lola will return to the co-op for another evening of DIY skincare & drinks. This month, she will share her recipes for salves (rubs) with complementing drinks (bubs--read: bubbles). Among the salves, you can make your own small CBD rub for pain relief!

Join us for an amazing Co-op Grill & Chill featuring a local vegetarian meal for only $5!
+ two veggie kabobs featuring  BlueMoon Farm  and  Sola Gratia Farm , including local onions, local cherry tomatoes, local eggplant, local peppers, local squash

+ two sides of Co-op made Classic Potato Salad and Quinoa Tabouli

Saturday, September 8; 2-4:30

Join us for another Ethiopian Cuisine class. This time, Tesfaye will teach us how to incorporate traditional flavors with fish. Born in Ethiopia and a scholar of anthropology, he will also discuss the cultural, topographical, and historical elements that have shaped and influenced contemporary Ethiopian cuisine.

We can all agree our pups quickly become one of the family, so why not feed them like it!? If your furry friend is like a kid to you, attend this make-and-take class to learn a tasty recipe for homemade dog biscuits.

Professional Knife Sharpening
Market Saturdays, 9-11am
$4-$7 per knife
Starting September 15th, local knife sharpener, Laurence, will be in the Flatlander Classroom on market Saturdays to offer his expert knife sharpening services. Bring your dull and worn kitchen knives to the co-op and they’ll leave like new!

Whole Food Plant-Based eating is a lifestyle that works to reduce consumption of animal products and emphasizes minimally processed foods. New instructor, Laura, has gradually adjusted her eating to fit WFPB and is eager to share her experience while showing her tips and tricks on a low classic vegetable sautee without oil!

Team Artichokes is a monthly kids cooking class for third, fourth, and fifth graders. In this hour long class, we learn how to read recipes, use kitchen utensils safely, and make delicious snacks.

Eating seasonally is a great budget stretcher! Co-op staff John will share a healthy and seasonal recipe for a grain bowl, featuring local grains from Funks Grove and fresh produce currently growing in Illinois.

Raw Vegan Series: Pizza

Join us for our third class in the Raw Vegan Series! This month, Evelyne will share her recipe for a raw vegan vegetable pizza. Finally! Our favorite comfort food can be delicious AND good for our health!

Imagine it: cheezy garlic bread, strawberry cupcakes, & chocolate chip cookies--ALL VEGAN. Sign soon for an engaging and informative class on vegan baking. Best of all, you can try samples of Michelle’s recipes and walk out ready to make them yourself!

Our second Ethiopian Cuisine class will feature an authentic vegan dish, paired with traditional Ethiopian bread, injera. Born in Ethiopia and a scholar of anthropology, Tesfaye will also discuss the cultural, topographical, and historical elements that have shaped and influenced contemporary Ethiopian cuisine.
