SFH Gardens Welcomes Lead Teacher Christopher Hill!
SFH Gardens has recently hired Christopher Hill to help teach the various high school, transition programs and adult day program groups that are attending SFH Gardens.

Christopher has extensive experience in the environmental/horticulture area and in the education field.  He has spent his last 16 years teaching English-as-a-Second-Language to both neurotypical and special education primary students. Prior to that he spent over a decade in various environmental/horticultural functions, including assisting in running a 20-acre vegetable farm, as a landscaping consultant, and working for the Peace Corp in Central America as an 'agro-forestry technician' teaching sustainable agricultural techniques.  Wow!

Funding for this new position at Sunflower Hill is made possible via grants from both the City of Pleasanton and the City of Livermore.

We are very excited to have Christopher join our team!!!  Welcome, Christopher Hill!!

Long Table Dinner a Success and Next Family Workday
In The SFH Gardens-Fall Season Planting Day!
Sunflower Hill Gardens' 2nd Annual Long Table Dinner was an amazing event! We had a delicious farm-to-table dinner prepared by Matthew Greco of Salt Craft, which included Bassian Farms chicken along with wines from Page Mill Winery and Darcie Kent Vineyards. Music by the  The LK Project was enjoyed throughout the evening.

Big thanks to Pleasanton's National Charity League and Young Men's Service League for volunteering and all their help! Thank you also to Gina Bonanano, one of our garden volunteers and sponsors, for taking the majority of pictures for us, which can be seen here
It was a hot, but beautiful night in the Sunflower Hill Gardens!

Our next  SFH Gardens Family Workday is September 16 9:30-11:30 a.m.   This will be a Fall Season
Planting Day.

Our next Family Workday will be on October 21 for our annual Halloween Bash!

Please see our  website to register.

Sunflower Hill is Dublin Whole Foods' "Nickels for Nonprofits" Recipient July - Sept!

We are still Dublin Whole Foods "Nickels for Nonprofits" partner until September 24!!  This program rewards the recipient organization with one nickel for each reusable bag used when customers check out and choose to "donate" vs "deduct" that nickel from their total shopping cost. These nickels really add up and we are super excited to have been chosen!

Please shop at Dublin Whole Foods at
5200 Dublin Blvd. in  Dublin  during July-September (and all the time, actually, because, well, have you been there? It's awesome!) to help support SFH and this program!
