Greetings sisters!

After our last time together back in June many sisters have asked to meet again. We know that this year has been one requiring endurance and our time together feels like an Oasis - a time to be nourished, encouraged and to be edified together.

Because it would be wonderful to meet again – WWOW will be hosting a Bible study led by a wild woman herself: Shirley Lin Kinoshita.

Online Bible Study - What is God's Peace?
Focusing on Philippians 4:7
Saturday, January 9, 2021
10am - noon (Pacific) / 11am-1pm (Mountain)
**RSVP email and links coming the end of December**

After the Bible study, plan to have snacks at arm’s reach and stay a little longer for a meaningful art project as we make butterflies together.

Shirley Kinoshita – is a faithful sister who likes to share her love of Asian arts and crafts, and combines her religious faith and her art to support causes. A lifelong student of the Bible, Shirley led email-based Bible studies online during the early days of the internet (1980s), called Biblestudy-L. She also wrote a Daily Devotional for 2 years as a companion to the English language study. Because the audience was virtual, the students came from many nations.

Shirley has advocated for peace for many years. She recently produced a 12-minute video on nuclear weapons abolition and peace cranes that is featured at her congregation’s events page: www.tableofmanycolors.org

Shirley presented a webinar on Art & Faith in October 2020; “Using Your Talents for God and For Good”, hosted by the Northern California-Nevada Christian Church ministry. Her most recent Bible study presentation was on ZOOM, May 7, 2020, for Obra Hispana’s IWOBS, a new bilingual bible study with an immigrant focus.

As a visual artist based in the San Francisco Bay area focusing on Sumi-e (Asian Ink Painting) and watercolors, she has taught many creative subjects to all ages, from preschoolers to seniors. For more, check AmericanSumie.com and sumieblog.wordpress.com.

She has been married since 1965 to Kim Kinoshita, has 2 adult children and 2 grandchildren. Shirley is grateful to all the Bible study/Christian education teachers/leaders who have nurtured her spiritual journey. She believes it is through the Holy Scriptures, and fellow believers that we can learn and discern God through Jesus Christ, we worship and follow.

We hope that you can join us in January.
