Meet Our Board Members!

Emily

Emily Latta

I am excited to introduce myself as a driven Business Development Officer at Truity Credit Union. When it comes to the Johnson County Christmas Bureau, I'm genuinely motivated by the chance to extend a helping hand to individuals and families who may be going through tough times during a season that should be filled with joy and togetherness. I'm genuinely excited about contributing to this incredible cause. Drawing from my experience in writing grants, community outreach, and strategic planning, I bring valuable insights to the table. I also believe in the effectiveness of building meaningful partnerships and the importance of empathy and teamwork when working towards a common goal.

Upon retiring from nearly 40 years in the Technology Industry I was introduced to JCCB by a friend who felt they could use my “skills” at Shop to be one of the Volunteer Trainers. Once you spend hours at Shop interacting with Clients, Volunteers and Departments, you understand and feel the passion for the mission. Over the past 9 years I have done many things for the organization with the Festival Trees Charity Auction, Holiday Of Hope, assisting Client Services and working on the Volunteer Team leveraging my leadership skills to execute for the benefit of the organization. I have never been involved in a charity who accomplishes so much with a minimal staff but instead with volunteers who have the “heart” for the cause.

Kendra Best

I currently hold the position of Director of Human Resources at AVI-SPL, bringing more than two decades of experience in the HR industry. In addition to my professional role, I've dedicated my time to volunteering with organizations where I've had the privilege of supporting children and families in challenging situations. My passion for making a positive impact in the lives of those in need has led me to the exciting opportunity of joining the JCCB board. I am eager to contribute my skills and expertise to serve on the board and believe that I provide valuable assistance.
