Highland Social Enterprise

Risk Assessment Training

HR - Induction, Performance management and Appraisal

This course covers all aspects of managing expectations and performance from day one of employment including necessary induction information, importance of regular 1:1s and the purpose of annual appraisals and how to ensure they feed into organisational strategic objectives.

At the beginning of the year, HTSI updated an renewed the majority of course content available on our eLearning platform. We have over 40 courses on the platform, each containing modules relevant to the Third Sector. Courses cover everything from workplace wellbeing to customer service and good governance to safeguarding.


After some consideration, HTSI are introducing a new pricing scale starting from the 1st of May. One licence per user.

Love Your Liver Roadshow

Inverness - Falcon Square, Eastgate Shopping Centre


At our roadshow, we offer a free liver health screening test on the mobile roadshow unit where people can find out if they are at risk of liver disease. Free scanning will also be available using a non-invasive FibroScan device. There will also be expert advice on how to keep your liver healthy from healthcare professionals who will provide advice on diet, exercise and healthy living.

Scottish Mental Health Arts Festival

The Scottish Mental Health Arts Festival Highland is taking place in May 2022 and this year's theme is 'Gather'. Each year Highland community groups join together for SMHAF Highland which aims to support the arts and challenge stigma and preconceived ideas about mental health. Events include nature walks, poetry readings, art exhibitions, film screenings, mindfulness taster sessions and much more.

Bereavement by Suicide

This event is an opportunity to hear about examples of national and local work focussed on improving the experiences of those impacted by the death of someone by suicide. You will hear about a range of work covering family/carer support; support in workplaces and building capacity. Throughout the session, there will also be opportunities to have your say about what else is needed to reduce the impact of a death by suicide. These discussions will help shape the next suicide prevention strategy due to be published in September 2022.

Making Children's Rights Real

This event focuses on The Promise and how organisations are putting the principles into action. There will be a number of workshops on good practice examples of co-production, with children and young people as co-presenters.

Funded Microcredentials for the CLD Workforce


Deadline for Applications: Sunday 15th May


The benefit of these courses is that you bring your existing skills, knowledge and experience to the course and build on them in innovative ways through exploring and learning about new and interesting approaches, methods and activities. The courses also include a social learning environment where you can share experiences with and learn from other CLD practitioners. The courses are at postgraduate level and they will start in June 2022 and run for 12 weeks.

Data Protection for the third sector in Scotland

Applying MAT Standards Within Human Rights Based Approach

Deriving initially from their own lived experience of substance use, mental health and the difficulties in navigating systematic barriers when accessing support, Reach advocacy work to create lasting cultural change through education and promoting equal opportunities for all. In line with their partnership with the MAT Standards Implementation Support Team (MIST), REACH deliver Awareness workshops on the Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT) Standards and how they can be implemented as part of a wider human rights based framework to ultimately reduce drug deaths and related harms within Scotland.

Mental Health Awareness Training for Rural Organisations


14th and 16th June,

10 am – 12 pm


Support in Mind Scotland is delighted to be working in partnership with Mental Health UK to deliver fully funded introductory mental health awareness training to rural organisations and businesses with less than 50 members of staff. Workplace wellbeing has become a priority for many employers in light of the Covid pandemic over the last two years. The 4-hour ‘An Insight into Mental Health’ interactive course can help your staff team to open up the conversation about mental health and identify what changes can be made in the workplace to improve wellbeing.

Roll out of Safe and Together Training


from June 2022 the following will be offered:


  • Overview Training – an Introduction to the Model – this is aimed at those practitioners and managers who do not have key responsibilities for assessment, planning and direct work with children, young people and families (100 places max)
  • CORE Training – for those who have direct responsibility for assessment and planning processes, and/or work directly with children, young people and families affected by domestic abuse (40 places max)
  • Manager/Supervisor Training – for those who have line management/supervisory responsibility for practitioners who have undertaken/will undertake the CORE training (40 places max)

 

The sessions (apart from Overview) are designed using a blend of e-modules followed by live sessions delivered via MS Teams. These are delivered in short sessions in the hope that diaries can be accommodated.


All applications should be sent to [email protected] and we will send confirmation of places as soon as possible with the e-module links. We are unable to accommodate more than 1 or 2 people per team/organisation on the CORE/Managers training courses but the training will run again in 2023.
