Team Empowerment Conference & Education Advocate Training (in-person)
The day will be packed with information about free appropriate public education (FAPE), evaluations, individualized education programs (IEPs), least restrictive environment (LRE), procedural safeguards and discipline protections. We will end the day with some strategies for addressing challenging behaviors.
Education Advocate Training (in-person)
The Education Advocate training is for Kansas foster parents, adoptive parents, community volunteers and any other who wishes to help a child who does not have parents by acting on their behalf for special education decisions.

- November 17 - Self-determination and the IEP
- December 15 - Supported Decision Making
You will gain an understanding of your parent rights and leave with ideas, strategies, and resources for using person-centered planning to create an Individualized Education Program (IEP) that truly reflects your youth’s vision for a good life.
