Did You Know?
Did you know that 90 percent of lower back pain has no known structural or physiologic cause? In the United States, over 70 percent of the population will experience lower back pain at some point.

Despite these challenges, it has been proven that increasing movement frequency throughout the day will decrease the likelihood of experiencing lower back pain. Movement provides nutrition to discs that exist between each vertebra and helps to make the spine resilient to injury.

One easy way to add more movement is to incorporate short bouts of walking to interrupt prolonged periods of immobility, such as when working for extended periods of time. Even if it is too cold to get outside, a simple 5-minute walk around the house can do the trick!
