Hannah Pingree was appointed to lead Governor Mill’s Office of Policy Innovation and the Future in January 2019. Hannah previously served as Speaker of the Maine House of Representatives from 2008 to 2010. She also served as the Maine House Majority Leader, Chair of the Committee on Health and Human Services, and as a member of the Committee on Appropriations and Financial Affairs during her terms in Maine Legislature from 2002 - 2010. Hannah spearheaded successful legislation on energy, broadband, housing, environmental health, and health care during her time in office.

Nichole Kindelan, ACSR, CPIW, is a licensed property & casualty insurance advisor with NFP Property & Casualty, Inc.with over 20 years’ experience working in all lines of property and casualty insurance. Nichole started her insurance career in Caribou Maine where she grew up. She is knowledgeable in both Personal and Commercial Insurance and loves the ability to fully service her clients. For the last 15+ years Nichole has been servicing many different types of businesses with their business insurance needs.

In her free time Nichole enjoys being outdoors. You may see her hiking on local trials or running on the local roads. She also enjoys kayaking, campfires and spending time with her family and friends.

To determine these distinguished wedding professionals, WeddingWire analyzed reviews across more than 20 service categories, from venues and caterers to florists and photographers to find the most highly rated vendors
of the year.
Gardiner Federal Credit Union's Scholarship Committee is pleased to announce that they are offering a total of $3,000.00 in Scholarships in 2020. GFCU is offering six scholarships, in the amount of $500 each, to deserving students who are pursuing post-secondary education or graduate degrees. To be considered for the scholarships, applicants must live, work, worship or attend school in Kennebec County, Lincoln County, or in the towns of Palermo or Richmond. Applicants must also complete the online application, which consists of a short form detailing their extracurricular activities and community service and two short essay questions. The application is available, under the applications tab, on Gardiner Federal Credit Union’s website: gardinerfcu.org. The deadline to apply is April 30, 2020.

The Harlow, in partnership with the Vaughan Woods & Historic Homestead, seeks a modern interpretation of the original Maine state seal to be hung over the mantel in the Vaughan Homestead dining room in celebration of the Maine state bicentennial. One artist will be selected and awarded a $1,500 prize. The deadline for entries is February 22, 2020 by 11:59pm. Artists may submit one piece only, in any two dimensional media including but not limited to: painting, drawing, printmaking, encaustic, illustration, mixed media, photography, and more. The submitted piece must be an original work by the submitting artist. Artists should be residents of Maine at least part of the year.
Kennebec Valley Human Resource Association hosts its next meeting on Wednesday, February 12 a the Augusta Civic Center from 7:30 to 9:30 a.m. Enjoy a hot buffet breakfast, while networking with your HR colleagues, and don’t forget to bring your business card to enter for the Door Prize. The featured presenter will be Dr. Kenji Saito, Director of MaineGeneral Workplace Health with a presentation titled "Understanding Evidence Based Decision Making Through an HR Lens." Maine State Museum invites you to spend school vacation at the museum. Explore the natural world around us with our hands-on gallery programs at 10:00 AM and 1:00 PM Tuesday, February 18th through Friday, February 21, 2020. Learn what creatures like to live under logs (hint: reptiles and amphibians) examine beautiful rock and mineral specimens, take a closer look at sea creatures found in tide pools, and learn more about Maine mammals. A natural science touch cart will be set-up from 11:00-12:00 and 2:00-3:00 daily for in-depth exploration. All activities are free with the price of museum admission.
