Tribute to the Rescuers Essay Contest

Now Open for 1st & 2nd Semester Submissions!

The 24th Annual Tribute to the Rescuers Essay Contest invites students to explore the theme of moral courage; the bravery to stand up for others in the face of injustice through the lens of the Holocaust and other historical events. Students research and write about individuals who risked their lives to help others during one of history’s darkest times.

To better accommodate school schedules, the contest is now open for 1st and 2nd semester submissions, giving teachers more flexibility to incorporate this powerful learning opportunity into their curriculum.

Help your students reflect on the impact of individual action and contribute their voices to this meaningful conversation.

Lunch and Learn Series

September 21 | 11:30 AM | Via ZOOM

The Institute for Holocaust Education invites you to our upcoming Third Thursday Lunch and Learn, featuring Dr. Rachel Hirsh and Harmon Maples from the Anti-Defamation League (ADL) as guest speakers.

In this engaging virtual presentation, Dr. Hirsh and Mr. Maples will lead an engaging session on ADL’s history and current initiatives. They will also provide practical tools and scenarios, offering strategies and real-life exercises to help participants respond to antisemitism, stereotyping, and exclusion.

This session is part of our ongoing Third Thursday series, which aims to educate, engage, and empower the community through meaningful discussions on the Holocaust, genocide, and human rights.

We hope you’ll join us for this meaningful and timely discussion.

Our goal is to ensure that the tragedy and history of the Holocaust are remembered, that appropriate, fact-based instruction and materials are available to students, educators, and the public to enable them to learn the lessons of the Holocaust and that, as a result, we inspire our community to create a more just and equitable society.
