UPCOMING EVENTS

at McCOY

Join us on Saturday, March 7, from 9:00 am to noon, for a morning set aside to continue the fight against the invasive exotic plants that threaten to crowd out native plants at McCoy.

Invasive exotics degrade woodlands, reduce wildlife habitat, increase wildfire risk, and alter the appearance of public green spaces like McCoy. Volunteers across the state will be tackling invasive exotics in parks and natural areas, and we'll be joining in clearing ivy and privet at McCoy.

Meet at the Welcome Station in the parking lot and bring gloves and loppers if you have them. For more information, reach out to info@mccoywalden.org.

Have you tried planting seeds and been frustrated with the results? Achieving good results with seeds can feel unpredictable and challenging without a clear understanding of the process. But with a little information—and the right tools—you can grow fabulous flowers and plants from seed.

Join Instructor Anne Hayes Pearce for this hour-long class and leave ready to start your spring garden.

Don't miss the 4th Annual Egg Roll on Sunday, March 29, from 1:00–4:00 pm.

Guests can add to their collection of McCoy’s dated wooden souvenir eggs.

Each $10 egg includes an activities punch-card for the Egg Roll Obstacle Course, Egg-in-the-Hole, and the Bunny Hop Prize Walk. Completed cards earn a prize. Hot egg rolls, lemonade, cotton candy, kettle corn, and homemade sweets will be available for purchase.

The Easter Bunny will greet families, and children can enjoy the Egg Scramble, face painting, hair painting, and a sand terrarium craft. At the Bachman-McCoy House, “Easter Bunny Bargains” will feature spring-themed vintage china and accessories at 50–75% off, and docents will be available to answer questions about the farm's history.

New this year, Barnyard Friends will showcase a Scottish Highland cow, sheep, goats, an alpaca, rabbits, a donkey, and a mini horse in front of the Bachman-McCoy barn.

McCoy merchandise, Emma Bell Miles prints, and handcrafted bird feeders and bluebird houses will be for sale, with proceeds supporting McCoy.
