November 2019
A Letter from the Director...
Happy November! It is hard to believe that we are entering the holiday season.  November brings a time of reflection and gratitude.  In the spirit of the holiday, I spent some time thinking about the things I know for certain.  I thought I would share my top three certainties with you.  One, it is important to document your personal stories, dreams, and truths.  Your story is a gift that deserves to be shared with others. If you are like me, a person who adores books, it is important to informally write your own. One day when I am a much older version of myself, I expect my life's novel will be my favorite book. Two, in a world of technology that co-exists with my baby boomer parents - I am certain that almost everything will work if you unplug it for a few minutes.  And finally my third certainty, families in large numbers can be difficult to embrace.  Even in the moments of holding back your true thoughts about pop culture and politics while you pass the turkey, remember that families are a unique gift and yours was designed especially for you.

In closing, the library staff, volunteers, and board members are preparing many wonderful experiences for you this holiday season at the library.  I hope you find the time to stop by and celebrate the season with us.

See you at the library!

Lucas Drosnock, Library Page

Lucas is one of the Library's three new Pages! Lucas started working during the summer, and is currently a junior at Nazareth Area High School.
In his spare time, he is active in theater, Dungeons and Dragons, and loves listening to music.  He likes the library's close proximity to the high school; he enjoys meeting his friends, browsing books, and attending various events that catch his eye.
Lucas's favorite book choice was a tough decision, but he says it would be Lord of the Rings, by J.R.R. Tolkien "because of how cool of a world he made for his books, and the multiple languages he made for them."
Following high school, Lucas plans to go to college to become a history teacher.
