Meet Jeannie Parkerson,
Board of Directors
Jeannie Parkerson is a Hampton Roads native, born and raised in Newport News. She briefly left the region to earn a degree in Engineering Science and Mechanics at Virginia Tech. After graduation, Jeannie worked for an engineering firm in Northern Virginia before returning to Hampton Roads.

Jeannie and her husband, Art, have six children: Charles (‘18 alumnus), Farris (12th), Josiah (10th), Julia (8th), Lawrence (2nd) and Adam (PS). They were introduced to StoneBridge School by their neighbor, Charles Wolfe. Wolfe relocated his family from New England for his children to attend StoneBridge. His passion for StoneBridge sparked the Parkersons’ interest and once they saw the PEERS testing results, they were sold. The Parkersons own Lancaster Farms, a wholesale plant nursery in Suffolk.

On Mondays, Jeannie leads “Pray for StoneBridge,” the weekly meeting of parents, grandparents, and friends who diligently pray for the school (8:30-9:30 a.m. in the Assembly Hall). She can also be found substitute teaching, answering phones at the front desk, or volunteering in the advancement office. Jeannie brings Godly wisdom and discernment to the Board, along with a willingness to ask the difficult questions. As a member of the StoneBridge School Board, she hopes to help ensure that our graduates “are firmly established in the faith, with a love for God Himself, a knowledge of God’s Word, and personal experience with God’s presence and the power of the Holy Spirit.”
Arts & Languages Week
"Displaying the gifts God has given His children for His glory."
Upper School students will celebrate Arts and Languages Week from January 7-10 with the following themed days:

  • Musical Monday: Wear any SBS drama t-shirt, chorus t-shirt, or dress up like a character from any SBS drama production.
  • International Food Tuesday: Dress like an international food (taco, banana, cheese, bacon, snail, rabbit, etc.) or wear a shirt that displays an international food. Onesies and chef or food costumes are allowed.
  • Express Yourself Wednesday: Express your creative side with art-related clothing (ex: a Monet t-shirt or tie-dye) or dress up as your favorite artist.

*Students must adhere to SBS Ethos and modesty requirements.
Junior League Basketball
Open to the community, all boys and girls in grades K5-5th can sign up for Basketball Junior League in the winter. This training program serves as a developmental program for all future SBS basketball players and serves as a model of SBS athletics' values - character, confidence, cohesion, and competition.

  • Based on assessments, children may move to a different age group to ensure fairness and safety.
  • Junior League depends on the willingness of volunteers to coach and referee. If you are able to assist this season, please contact Ethan Walker by email or at (757) 488-2214 x107.
  • Junior League is $50 per athlete. The cost includes a t-shirt and admission for your entire family to a home SBS basketball game!

Flyers will be sent home in your child's communication folder. For the schedule and registration information, click here.
