This week’s highlights include Tanglewood on Parade, the Life-Sized Candy Land Board Game at the Stockbridge Library, and the opening of The Legend of Georgia McBride at Berkshire Theatre Group's Colonial Theatre.

Enjoy world-class dance as Germany’s Gauthier Dance presents The FireWorks Project at Jacob’s Pillow and experience the 2026 Gala: Anthony Roth Costanzo at the Mahaiwe Performing Arts Center. Additional highlights this season include Shake It Up: The Remix at Shakespeare & Company, Music Mondays featuring Misty Blues at the Berkshire Botanical Garden, and Chesterwood's ArtsAlive! series with five engaging programs celebrating the arts. The Norman Rockwell Museum offers its popular guided Walking Tour of Historic Stockbridge, while The Mount's Summer Author Series welcomes acclaimed author Jeff Chang for a special presentation.

PERFORMING ARTS

Berkshire Theatre Group

Opening July 31 at the Colonial Theatre in Pittsfield, The Legend of Georgia McBride brings Broadway stars Kyle Taylor Parker (Kinky Boots) and Michael Wartella (Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Wicked, Tuck Everlasting) to the Berkshires for one of the summer's most entertaining theatrical events.

Featuring a soundtrack inspired by Elvis Presley, Madonna, Dolly Parton, the Andrews Sisters, and more, this hilarious, feel-good comedy combines dazzling costumes, electrifying performances, unforgettable laughs, and plenty of heart.

When down-on-his-luck Elvis impersonator Casey unexpectedly lands in the glamorous world of drag, his life is transformed by the fabulous Miss Tracy Mills and an unforgettable cast of larger-than-life performers. What follows is a joyful celebration of friendship, self-discovery, and the courage to embrace your true self. Whether you're a longtime Broadway fan or simply looking for a fun night out, The Legend of Georgia McBride promises an evening of music, laughter, and show-stopping entertainment.

Lovesong continues at the Unicorn Theatre in #StockbridgeMA through August 29. Written by Abi Morgan, this poignant and beautifully crafted play follows a marriage across decades as younger and older versions of a couple share the stage, weaving together past and present in a moving exploration of love, memory, and enduring commitment.

Jacob’s Pillow — Festival Week 6 | July 29 - August 2 (Becket)

Festival Week 6 at Jacob's Pillow, showcases an exciting lineup of internationally acclaimed dance companies and world premieres. Making its U.S. debut in the Ted Shawn Theatre, Germany's Gauthier Dance presents The FireWorks Project, featuring nine works by leading contemporary choreographers.

The Brian Brooks Moving Company returns to the Doris Duke Theatre with a mixed program that includes two world premieres and innovative works blending dance with interactive technology.

On the outdoor Henry J. Leir Stage, UFlyMothership, KaJe Movement Collective, and Art Omi: Dance alumni make their Jacob's Pillow debuts with performances celebrating creativity, culture, and collaboration.

Festival Week 6 also features free PillowTalks, pre- and post-performance discussions, workshops, classes, and special campus events, offering visitors opportunities to experience dance both on and off the stage.

• July 31 | 7 p.m. – Milton is a songwriter’s songwriter, known for his masterful lyricism, distinctive voice, and soulful sound that draws from classic rhythm & blues, pop, jazz, folk, and country

Mahaiwe Performing Arts Center (Great Barrington) offers another exciting week ahead.

• July 30 | 7 p.m. 100 Years of Movies: The Right Stuff (1983)
• July 31 | 8 p.m. -An Evening with Heather Headley, the Tony Award-winning star known for her acclaimed performances in The Lion King and Aida, for which she won the Tony Award for Best Actress in a Musical. Her powerful vocals and dynamic stage presence have made her one of Broadway’s most celebrated performers.
• August 2 | 8 p.m. – 2026 Gala: Anthony Roth Costanzo an internationally acclaimed artist who has performed with leading opera companies and orchestras around the world, including the Metropolitan Opera, New York Philharmonic, and Berlin Philharmonic.

Shakespeare & Company (Lenox) Shake it Up: The Remix Opens July 31 and runs through August 3. Co-created by Allyn Burrows and Jacob Ming-Trent

Directed by Allyn Burrows| The hit that had audiences on their feet returns—revved up and remixed. The Tina Packer Playhouse transforms once more into the Elephant Lounge for Shake It Up: The Remix, an exuberant mash-up of modern music and Shakespearean verse. Audiences are invited to clap, sing, stomp, and dance in the aisles as the players unleash a breathless, rocking revue.

Running through August 23, Frankie and Johnny in the Clair de Lune by Terrence McNally comes to Shakespeare & Company in a tender and deeply human production directed by Nicole Ricciardi. Set over one unforgettable night, this romantic drama follows two lonely hearts as they navigate love, vulnerability, and the possibility of a second chance. Blending humor and heartfelt emotion, the play is a moving reminder that connection can arrive when it is least expected.

Tanglewood Music Festival Summer continues at Tanglewood with another outstanding week of performances.

• July 31 | 6 p.m. - Prelude Concert: BSO Musicians (Seiji Ozawa Hall)
• July 31 | 8 p.m. –Esa-Pekka Salonen conducts Wagner, Sibelius, and Beethoven with Yefim Bronfman (Koussevitzky Music Shed)
• August 1 | 8 p.m. –Andris Nelsons conducts Mozart The Marriage of Figaro (Koussevitzky Music Shed)
• August 2 | 10:30 a.m. TLI for Families: Listening to the Land
• August 2 | 2:30 p.m. - Joshua Bell performs Bruch Scottish Fantasy (Koussevitzky Music Shed)
• August 4 | 2 p.m. Tanglewood on Parade: Making Music in Community
• August 4 | 8 p.m. Tanglewood on Parade Evening Concert (Koussevitzky Music Shed) The Tanglewood Music Center Fellows join members of the BSO and the Pops in a special concert hosted by Yo-Yo Ma. The program opens with Beethoven’s Symphony No. 6 Pastoral, performed by the musicians without a conductor — one example of what happens when friends and neighbors work together with a common purpose — and includes works by Allison Loggins-Hull, John Williams, and Tchaikovsky, featuring BSO Principal Flutist Lorna McGhee and conductor Samy Rachid. “To perform the Pastoral without a conductor is an astonishing feat, accomplished only through collective dedication to an idea, through the attention and care of the musicians to one another. It is an example of what distributed leadership can sound like and a lesson in the practice of democratic responsibility.” — Yo-Yo Ma

Chesterwood Experience the home, studio, and gardens of renowned sculptor Daniel Chester French. Chesterwood's ArtsAlive! series continues with an exciting lineup of music, literature, and garden-inspired programs.

• July 31 |5:30 p.m. the Richard Peña Trio brings vibrant Latin jazz to Chesterwood, blending Afro-Caribbean rhythms with modern jazz and bebop. A wine reception follows the performance.
• August 1 |5:30 p.m. Boston Baroque's The X-Tet makes its Chesterwood debut with Sounds from Spain, featuring Spanish Baroque music and arrangements by Olivia Pérez-Collemir, joined by Grammy Award-winning tenor Karim Sulayman. A wine reception follows.
• August 4 | 4:30 p.m Artists' Gardens in New England with Author and Garden Designer Jana Milbocker
• August 5 | 5:30 p.m. We (too) the People: Voices from the New England Poetry Club The New England Poetry Club returns to Chesterwood for a second program of poetry by NEPC members, Tim Mayo and Pamela Wax. Mayo’s poetry collections include Muscle Memories of Love and Disaster, published in March, 2026 by Bainbridge Island Press. Wax is the author of Every Single Beast of My Heart (Sheila-Na-Gig, 2026) and previous collections including Walking the Labyrinth (Main Street Rag, 2022), and Starter Mothers
• August 6 | 5:30 p.m. Pablo Casals, a Cellist in Exile — Conversation with Pedro Reina-Pérez

Clark Art Institute (Williamstown) offers a mix of exhibitions, nature programming, and live music in its outdoor spaces.

• August 1 | 1 p.m. – Free Ground/Work 2025: the End A Clark educator leads a close examination and in-depth discussion around the outdoor sculpture the End by American artist Hugh Hayden. The artist, best known for his works in salvaged wood with protruding, preserved natural branches, transforms local hemlock trees into a massive upside-down ribcage, a form that suggests the remnant of some giant's life. Through guided conversation and reflection, participants consider how Hayden's work is in active dialogue with the Clark's natural environment.
• August 1 | 2 p.m. - Free Coastlines Lecture: Homer's Life Line
• August 5 | 8:35 p.m. - Free Summer Movie: The Little Mermaid (reflection pool lawn)
• August 6 | 1 p.m. - Free Sculpture Portraits: Weekly Drop-In Art-Making
• Clark's summer exhibitions, including An Exquisite Eye: Introducing the Aso O. Tavitian Collection, Giorgio Griffa: Paths in the Forest, and CoastLines: American Prints and Drawings.

Frelinghuysen Morris House & Studio (Lenox) offers recurring programs including:

• Director’s Corner, held Thursdays and Saturdays at 11:15 a.m.
• Artist Demonstrations held Fridays at 11 am 
  Plein air watercolor demo July 31st with Tony Conner Vermont Watercolorist and instructor Tony Conner will demo plein air watercolor painting meant to "capture the essence of a scene in a style that balances freedom and control".
• Exercise Your Creativity held Sundays 11am-1pm.

The Mount is a historic house museum, cultural center, and public park set in the heart of Lenox.

• July 31 | 8 p.m. Ghost Tour of The Mount
• August 2 | 1:30 p.m. Monsters! Aliens! Robots! Illustration Workshop with Matt McElligott This workshop with author and illustrator Matt McElligott will unleash your inner creature design studio. Join Matt as he reads from his books and demonstrates some of his favorite illustration techniques. Then, everyone will get to work creating their own monster-alien-robot masterpieces! Supplies will be provided for all human earthlings who attend.
• August 3 | 4 p.m. & August 4 | 11 a.m., Summer Author Series welcomes Jeff Chang, to discuss his acclaimed biography, Water, Mirror, Echo: Bruce Lee and the Making of Asian America. Named a Best Book of the Year by NPR, Vogue, Kirkus Reviews, and Alta Journal, the book draws on newly available archives, interviews, and photographs to explore Bruce Lee's life, cultural impact, and lasting influence on Asian American identity.
• August 5 | 5:30 p.m. Wharton on Wednesday | The Mission of Jane, read by Tod Randolph
• August 6 | 9:30 a.m. Reshaping our Relationship with the Future with author Anne Therese Gennari

Naumkeag  Visitors can enjoy ongoing tours: Designing for Delight a guided garden tours, Behind the Blue Curtain: Backstairs Tours, and Inside Naumkeag: Guided house tours on June 21 and 25.

Norman Rockwell Museum offers an inspiring journey into the world of American illustration through the beloved works of Norman Rockwell. 

• August 1 | 10 a.m. & 3 p.m. Guided Walking Tour of Historic Stockbridge, exploring the places and people that inspired Norman Rockwell's iconic paintings.
• August 1 | 11 a.m. - 4 p.m. Summer Saturdays features hands-on artmaking activities for all ages inspired by American Stories: Revolution to Rockwell. 
• The major exhibition American Stories: Revolution to Rockwell continues to draw visitors exploring the American experience through art and illustration.

• August 4 | 4 p.m. – Tea & Talk: Film Making in New England Jay Craven, American film director, screenwriter, and former film professor at Marlboro College, will present his talk New England Movies: How & Why.  Craven will tell the story of his adventures and experiences, developing a sustained filmmaking career in the unlikely settings of Vermont and Massachusetts. A tea will follow his presentation.

Stockbridge Library Museum & Archives

• August 2 | 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. Life Sized Candy Land Do you love candy? Do you love board games? This summer the Stockbridge Library is creating a life-sized Candy Land board game throughout the library for children and their families to play! Roll the dice and move throughout the library as you discover places such as Peppermint Forest, Cupcake Corner, Candy Castle, and more! For children and their families. No sign up required, drop in any time between 10am to 2pm.
• Children's programs for the week include Family Storytime on August 4, Slime Squad on August 4.

Saving Ice Glen Community Celebration with Bob Leverett Old Town Hall, Berkshire Waldorf High School, 6 Main Street, Stockbridge

• August 3 | 4 p.m. Free An afternoon to honor his lifelong work protecting old-growth forests — with a screening of the film Saving Ice Glen, a conversation with Bob and friends, and a toast to his work.

Stockbridge Concerts in the Park | Bidwell Park Pavilion

• Friday, July 31 | 5:30 p.m. Jackson Sundown Albany-area jam band Jackson Sundown delivers a dynamic mix of their own original music alongside the legendary songs of the Grateful Dead, The Band, Taj Mahal and Les McCann.
