Summer is officially in full swing! Summertime is special in Calvert County; it's a time to catch some sun on one of the county’s pristine beaches, check out some local live music or get out on the waters surrounding our pleasant peninsula. This July, we have compiled activities for the whole family to take advantage of the warm weather.

Sea Glass & Beach Crafts Market Annmarie Garden & Arts Center July 2 | 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.  Beach-themed market celebrating summer and all things sea glass and beachy!

Independence Day Celebration  Chesapeake Beach July 3 | Dusk An evening of fireworks displayed through the twin beaches for all to see.

4th of July Fireworks Cruise Calvert Marine Museum July 4 | 8-10 p.m. An evening cruise on the Patuxent while enjoying the fireworks display.

Maritime Art & Artifacts Calvert Marine Museum July 1-3 | 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Explore first-hand the maritime culture and natural history of the Chesapeake Bay.

Farmers Market   CalvertHealth Medical Center July 5, 12, 19 and 26 2:30-6:30 p.m. Local farmers and vendors offer plants, vegetables, baked goods, meats, cheeses and many other fresh goods.

Maryland Archaeological Conservation Lab Tours Jefferson Patterson Park & Museum July 7, 14, 21 and 28 1-2 p.m. Come see the archaeologists, curators and conservators at work as they discover artifacts.

Sharkfest! Calvert Marine Museum July 9 | 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Spend the day at the museum and celebrate all things shark!

Screwpile Lighthouse Challenge Safe Harbor Zahnisers July 15-17 | All day An annual favorite of great racing on the Patuxent. Spend the weekend enjoying live music, food and fun.

Brothers Osborne Calvert Marine PNC Waterside Pavilion July 16 | Doors open 5 p.m. An evening of country music entertainment at the PNC Waterside Pavilion.

Insectival Annmarie Garden & Arts Center July 23 | 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Buzz on by as we celebrate and investigate insects. Find your way through nature activities, bug hunts and show and tell investigations.

Southern Maryland Farm to Table Sassafras Farm July 28 | 6-9 p.m. A culinary event featuring locally sourced cuisine and cocktails from top chefs Gwyn Novak and Trish Weaver.

Baltimore Symphony Orchestra  Calvert Marine PNC Waterside Pavilion  July 30 | 7-10 p.m. An orchestra performance at the PNC Waterside Pavilion showcasing curated pieces to celebrate our county’s spirit.
