July Highlights

Wow, what a wonderful month it has been! Despite the heat and dry conditions we were delighted to host so many students at the farm. If you are an educator or would like to organize a visit to the farm please direct letters of interest to info@kulafarm.org.

Thank you COLLIER SCHOOL!

We had a fantastic time engaging with students from the Collier School both in the greenhouse and in the garden. What a joy it was to work with such an engaged and intelligent group of youth.

Thank you GROWN IN MONMOUTH SUMMER CAMP!

The campers had a great time exploring the gardens, working in the greenhouse, picking cucumbers, digging oak trees and finally making pickles with Chef Pamela Cardinale. We enjoy when visitors spend an extended time in the garden so we can introduce them to the many hands on tasks that need to be accomplished as well as have the time to explore the gardens and bear witness to nature.

THANK YOU HOPE ACADEMY CHARTER!

We LOVED teaching the k-3rd graders about ecology, food and the value of interconnections at the farm every Tuesday morning. A big thank you to Matt Daniels for being such an enthusiastic and loving educator.

We do our best to provide habitat and food for pollinators and the wide world of insects that are fundamental to life on the planet. We know that the insects make many people, (especially youth) uncomfortable but we see exposure to nature and insects at a young age an incredibly important and valuable lesson about the interdependence of all life and tolerance to things we may not yet understand or fear.

THANK YOU FOR COMPOSTING!!!

We deeply appreciate all the people who make an effort to drop their kitchen scraps at our community compost pile.

Many thanks to Jane Foss for donating 8 bales of hay that are necessary to keep a balanced blend of "green and brown" in the pile.

It's our sincere pleasure to provide this service to everyone who participates. We love you!

Thanks Kylie for joining the compost turning squad. If you're interested in mixing shoot an email to info@kulafarm.org.

THANK YOU CHEFS AND CUSTOMERS!

We are so proud to sell produce to such fantastic restaurants and local chefs that care about supporting small scale growers like us. Also as of right now we are selling to a majority of women owned businesses!

We know, it's a lot of thanking but honestly, without all the people that support us through buying our produce, attending our workshops and events or making donations we wouldn't be here.
