All About Fruit!

Sunday Sep. 22, 1:30 – 3:00PM

Aimed at ages 4 – 8yrs

Healthy eating habits are very important, and today we’ll learn all about fruit!

We’ll learn how it grows, we’ll do some taste testing and decide which fruit is the tastiest of all.

But we’ll also do some silly stuff, like finding out which one is the fastest fruit in a race and see whether it floats or not.

August Highlights

We had a great visit from Hackensack Meridian's School of Medicine Summer Pathway Program. 30 enthusiastic students learned about hydroponics, gardening and how we try to make sure everyone can benefit from our programs. They taste tested some microgreens and all went home with a sunflower.

Inspire Life Camp packed the greenhouse and made the most delicious ground cherry and tomato salsa from our gardens with the help of Matt and Kim. The group showed surprising knife skills and bravery in eating fresh hot peppers. Thank you for visiting once again!

Happy Birthday Diane! We had so much fun celebrating the birthday of our colleague Diane Shelton at the farm.

The Elderberry Syrup workshop was packed this year! Thanks to Leslie and Kim for educating the enthusiastic crowd. Remember, we share Elderberry cuttings every April, so if you're already planning next years garden, leave some space for elderberry!
