Florida Power & Light Company (FPL) is constructing a new substation and installing an underground transmission line to improve customer reliability and energy grid resiliency.

Please click here to view the project fact sheet with information regarding the project and a route map for the new underground line. The construction start date forMichigan Avenue is set for August 2022 with completion expected by May 2023.

Due to the complexity of this project, construction will take place around the clock seven days a week through early November only in the areas along Michigan Avenue between Dade Boulevard and Alton Road, between 16 - 12 streets, and between 5 - 4 streets. The remaining work will take place daily Monday through Saturday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. until May.
