HOTMA: A Comprehensive Overview for HUD-Assisted Programs
The Ohio Housing Finance Agency (OHFA) is proud to sponsor the Ohio Capital Corporation for Housing's (OCCH) two-hour webinar on the Housing Opportunity Through Modernization Act (HOTMA).

HOTMA: A Comprehensive Overview for HUD-Assisted Programs will be held on August 1, 2023 from 1:00-3:00 p.m. EST and presented by Lisa Thompson, President of Affordable Housing Specialists.  

The training will include:

  1. Programs affected by HOTMA
  2. Changes to:

  • Program Eligibility
  • Treatment of Annual Income
  • Treatment of Net Family Assets
  • Deductions and adjustments to income
  • Rent calculations
  • Rules on processing Interim Recertifications

The webinar is intended for owners and managers of HUD-assisted housing, including projects under the Project-Based Section 8, Section 202/811, HOME and National Housing Trust Fund programs.

Although some of the provisions covered in this webinar are likely to apply to LIHTC properties, the IRS has not yet confirmed which portions of HOTMA will apply to the LIHTC program. A separate webinar will be scheduled after the IRS confirms the applicability of HOTMA to the LIHTC program.
