Upcoming In-Person Workshops

Hello NC Officials!

We have three important updates for you all.

As of November 1, 2023, we will need to have 4 credits of continual Learning webinars or workshops to certify as a tennis official for 2024. If you log on to your Officials First site and go to HELP ME OUT in the bottom righthand corner, go to USTA Officiating Learning Center, and go to my Dashboard you will see how many credits you have and how many you need to be re-certified for 2024. Also, for 2024 Recertification, you must complete your Vision Form, signed by your eye doctor and return to USTA (upload completed form from your Officials First account). For 2024 Recertification, you must complete SAFE PLAY. Your background check will also need to be completed again this year. Also, your USTA membership must be up to date.
PLEASE ALLOW 10 DAYS TO 2 WEEKS TO COMPLETE AND CERTIFY YOUR VISION FORM AND SAFE PLAY/BACKGROUND CHECK. DO NOT WAIT UNTIL THE LAST MINUTE TO COMPLETE THESE OR YOU MAY BE DECERTIFIED!

Referee: Sunday, May 21
Registration deadline is May 13. If you are thinking about attending one of these workshops, REGISTER NOW! Workshops have a minimum attendance. If you wait until the last minute to register, and we don't have enough, workshops will be canceled.

Good Chase Sportsmanship Race
USTA Southern announces the Good Chase Sportsmanship Race in collaboration with the Match Tennis App. From May 1 to July 31, 2023, the Good Chase Sportsmanship Race will promote good behavior by junior players during tournaments. The purpose of the race is to incentivize and reward players who exhibit exemplary sportsmanship, with the ultimate goal of creating a more positive and respectful tournament environment for all participants.
The Good Chase winner will earn a Grand Prize trip for two ground passes to the 2023 US Open (worth $300), a $500 grant for a hotel (supplied by USTA Southern) and $800 in airfire provided by Match Tennis App. Any players who receive 5 or more nominations will receive sportsmanship bag tags.
Each tournament (officials, td, etc) will have one Good Chase Sportsmanship Race vote.
