Pilgrim Festival Chorus presents

‘A Woman’s Voice’

May 7th & 8th

Pilgrim Festival Chorus, the region’s principal community chorus, presents its spring season concert, A Woman’s Voice, on Saturday, May 7 at 7:30PM, and Sunday, May 8 at 4:00PM, at St. Bonaventure Parish, 803 State Road, Plymouth.

The concert, co-directed by William B. Richter and Elizabeth Chapman Reilly, was originally scheduled for spring 2020 to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the passage of the 19th amendment (guaranteeing and protecting a woman's constitutional right to vote).

A Woman’s Voice seeks to honor the lives and voices of women. Some of the texts are by well-known women such as Abigail Adams, Helen Keller, and Elizabeth Barrett Browning, while many of the choral settings are by some of the finest contemporary women composers.

MAY is MENTAL HEALTH AWARENESS MONTH

31 Days of Activities to Support

Your Own Mental Health

Every day during Mental Health Awareness Month

we offer one suggestion that anyone can do to practice

self-care or care for another.

Each week during Mental Health Awareness Month, we will promote a way to support Call2Talk and spread mental health awareness.

Week #1 Activity - Meditation

People have practiced meditation for thousands of years and for a lot of different reasons. Meditation offers many positive benefits such as increasing self-awareness, focusing on the present, increasing patience and tolerance, and the effects it has on managing stress make it a valuable tool or activity to support your own mental health.

JF&CS Community Group on ZOOM

Tuesdays at 10:30 am

JF&CS, Jewish Family & Child Services, presents a Community Music/Therapeutic Arts-based ZOOM Group Get-Together

This group is designed in the hopes of fostering well-being, connection, and community, for older adults who might be seeking a bit of inspiration and artistic expression from the comfort of their homes.

Each participant is encouraged to appropriately

engage as much as they feel comfortable.

*Share their stories and talents;

*Request to listen to recordings of their favorite songs

together with the group; or

*They can simply listen with their cameras off

& microphones muted.

We look forward to continuing to explore different ways in which music and the arts can help enhance our abilities to connect over Zoom.
