PT ADULT BASIC EDUCATION - GED/HiSET

LIBRARY INSTRUCTOR


The Town of Plymouth seeks applicants for the position of PART-TIME ADULT BASIC EDUCATION INSTRUCTOR – GED/HiSET INSTRUCTOR for the Literacy Program of Greater Plymouth, Plymouth Public Library. Provides instruction for adult students in basic skills upgrading and/or GED preparation. Responsible for maintaining student assessment results and tracking student progress throughout the year. Meets with students to define and update goals. Must participate in professional and program development activities.

Bachelor’s Degree required. Master’s Degree with teaching certificate preferred. Experience working with adult learners preferred. Experience in literacy instruction and learning disabilities preferred. Demonstrated ability to provide individualized and group instruction to non-traditional students. Ability to work with students from diverse educational and ethnic backgrounds. Excellent oral and written communication skills, as well as computer literacy. Part-time, non-benefit position. Classes are Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday 9:00 am – 1:00 pm. Salary $29.00/hr. plus prep time. PARKINSON'S SUPPORT GROUP

If you or a family member has Parkinson's, this group can offer education, interaction, movement and fun! Meetings are at the Plymouth Public Library (132 South Street) on the 3rd Thursday of each month at 1:30. The next session will be held on Thursday, September 21st and will feature Elizabeth Martin, MS CCC-SLP, of Northeastern University, discussing the SPEAK OUT! and LOUD Crowd program. The following link provides more information:
