Please join the National Indian Health Board (NIHB) for an upcoming webinar: "Public Health and Clean Air". This webinar will describe the connection between air quality and community health outcomes, as well as provide an overview of tools and resources available to Tribes and Tribal public health officials to monitor and improve air quality.

This webinar will be presented by the National Tribal Air Association. Please come prepared to ask questions or share your own insights and experiences! This webinar is hosted as part of the Climate and Health Learning Community and is open to the public. The learning community is focused on knowledge exchange and members are encouraged to share information and build relationships with each other and the presenters.

Attendees will be asked to complete a short evaluation following the conclusion of the webinar.

The learning community is part of the Climate Ready Tribes initiative, funded by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Each person who attends at least two learning community webinars can earn a professional development certificate.

Audience
This webinar is open to any interested person, but is likely most relevant to people who want to learn more about air quality and how Tribes can monitor and improve air quality in their communities. This may include:
  • Tribal employees working in climate health positions;
  • Public Health staff interested in resources related to air quality; or
  • Tribal advocates wanting to learn more the connection between air quality and public health outcomes.

Learning Objectives
  • Describe the connection between air quality and public health outcomes in Indian Country.
  • Provide an overview of the Clean Air Act and how air quality is monitored throughout the country.
  • Examine tools and resources available to Tribes for air quality monitoring and improvement.
About the Presenter

Chairman of the National Tribal Air Association

As Director of the Colorado River Indian Tribes’ Environmental Protection Office, Wilfred Nabahe represents the Tribes located within the boundaries of EPA’s Region 9 on the National Tribal Air Association's Executive Committee. As NTAA’s current Chairman, Mr. Nabahe works to ensure that NTAA helps to empower Tribes to protect and enhance the air that we all breathe.
