PHC created the first concept of the one-stop shop service day. At every event, we provide free access to over 200 critical resources such as medical, dental, and vision care, showers, housing information, employment services, mental health care, and groceries. By mobilizing city and community agencies, as well as thousands of volunteers, we are able to ensure that our participants receive holistic care in a dignified setting! Meet Our Newest Team Member!

Allegra Hirschman, Community Day of Services Director Allegra brings over a decade of experience as a program director, social researcher, and community organizer dedicated to working with diverse populations in San Francisco. Recently, she headed Outreach for Post-Traumatic Stress Research at NCIRE- The Veterans Research Institute. Allegra is a Bay Area Native and is honored to be joining an organization that serves our most vulnerable residents with dignity and compassion. Outside of work, she enjoys running after her kids through San Francisco’s many awesome parks and playgrounds, cooking, and teaching line dancing to older adults. Allegra joins the PHC team in February!

PHC CareVan Launches in Sunset District

On Friday, January 10th, PHC partnered with Supervisor Gordon Mar's office to launch the CareVan Sunset , bringing services to people experiencing homelessness in the Outer Sunset Neighborhood. With the support of amazing volunteers from the Sunset community, we successfully connected eight people in need to our services! We are proud to be a part of this comprehensive, community-led effort to bring supportive services in all parts of our city. We will continue to provide services every second Friday in the area.

Comic Book Sock Drive

Third graders and social entrepreneurs, Thaze and Lorenzo, co-authored and sold comic books to support our programs and the community! Through their work, they were able to donate 700 pairs of socks for our unhoused neighbors! We are proud to highlight Thaze and Lorenzo's creativity and compassion and to have them in the PHC family.
