Upcoming Prayer Walk for Mount Blue Sky
October 1 - 9, 2022
Please join this Prayer Walk with members of the Southern Cheyenne and Arapaho, Northern Arapaho, Northern Cheyenne, Colorado Ute, Lakota, and Diné Tribes along with Ancestral Healing Circle, Mestaa'ėhehe Coalition, Tipi Raisers, NativesOutdoors, People of the Sacred Land and others. We will begin with an opening ceremony at noon on Saturday, Oct 1st at the Sand Creek Massacre National Historic Site. Participants will walk, ride horses and run the 250 miles to the base of Mount Evans for a closing ceremony on Sunday, Oct 9th at Echo Lake Lodge. This walk is in support of all the hard work many have done to move this proposal to rename Mount Evans to Mount Blue Sky toward completion and healing the history concerning Gov. Evans' complicity in the Sand Creek Massacre in 1864.

Everyone is welcome to join at any time, and there are many options to be included and support this prayer walk. All local spiritual leaders, traditional dancers, and singers are welcome. Absolutely no alcohol, drugs, or weapons are allowed.
