Upcoming Price, Program, and Process Changes in 2024

Good afternoon,

Some minor updates will be coming to our price list and programs in 2024, the most outstanding of which we have summarized below.

We have decided to implement these changes in order to make our recertification process more accessible.

In order to reduce our environmental impact, we also hope to reduce our number of printed materials going forward and provide more digital options for our resources

Process Changes

Beginning April 1st, 2024, orders placed with us will need to be a minimum of $100 in order to qualify for free shipping.

Orders that do not meet this minimum will be invoiced for the shipping total.

Price Changes

Trainer Recertifications:

Current Price: $60.00, plus an optional $22 if you wish to recertify your National Lifeguard Instructor (NLI), Swim and Lifesaving Instructor (LSSI), or Lifesaving Instructor (LSI) certifications.

Beginning January 1st, 2024, the Trainer Recertification course fee will be updated to $75, as it will now automatically include NLI, LSSI, and LSI recertifications. We hope that this process will help streamline the trainer recertification process.

Bronze Medal Mandatory Update:

Current Price: $45.00

Beginning January 1st, 2024, the Bronze Medal Mandatory Update will be reduced to $25.

Currently the Society mails out the Bronze Medal award guide, Bronze Cross coursebook, and Bronze Medal lesson plans.

After January 1st, this will be reduced to only mailing out the Bronze Medal award guide, as the other two resources are available digitally and will be downloadable in the course.

Physical copies will be available for purchase.

Pac Changes

Effective January 1st, 2024, the Policies & Procedures will be removed from the 16HR Lifesaving Instructor and 16HR Lifesaving First Aid Instructor Pac contents.

Effective January 1st, 2024, the Policies and Procedures as well as the Leadership Reference Manual will not be included as part of the Trainer Course original materials. If candidates do not already own a physical copy of these materials, they will be available to access digitally.

New Lifesaving Instructor Pacs

The Lifesaving Instructor certificate can be completed in a 16-hour course with a Swim Instructor prerequisite, or a 32-hour course with a Bronze Cross prerequisite.

These alternate options require different course materials to ensure candidate success, so we have created two different Pacs based on which course you are running. Both of these Pacs will be available to order through our shop as of December 1st, 2023. See below:

Lifesaving First Aid Instructor Pac

The Lifesaving First Aid Instructor certificate can be completed in a 16-hour course with a Lifesaving Instructor and current Intermediate First Aid prerequisite, or in a 32-hour course with a current Intermediate First Aid prerequisite and a minimum age of 18.
