County Publishes Wi-Fi Location Map
As part of an initiative to expand access to broadband internet, San Mateo County has published an interactive map that shows all public Wi-Fi locations across the county.

The map is available at www.smcgov.org/wifi-locations.

The initiative, launched in 2014, has established hundreds of locations across the county for free public Wi-Fi use (including recent upgrades at Westlake Park and at the Doelger Senior Center) and most recently supported students during distance learning by subsidizing mobile internet hotspots.  According to a county press release, over six months in 2020 the county added more than 230 access points. Locations were chosen based on input from the community, county leaders and local organizations.  Residents are welcome to suggest a future site through a form on the county's website. At each site, the Wi-Fe is free to use with no password.
