First Theme Tea: Needle Arts

Higinbotham's Tea Room

Saturday, Sept. 11, noon

Higinbotham's Tea Room

102 Lincoln Way W

New Oxford, PA 17350

Do you enjoy gathering with others who love needle arts? Many members do, hence the creation of this themed tea. The Royal-tea Club is providing an opportunity to enjoy tea along with conversations about the world of needle arts. At our first themed tea attendees are encouraged to bring a project featuring any needle art — embroidery, counted cross stitch, knitting, crocheting to name a few — for "show-and-tell." Or maybe you have a question about a pattern or project that another member could help with.

We are so excited to see what members have been creating, hope to see you there.

The club has been to this tearoom in a Victorian home in the "Antique Capital" several times. If you are interested in antiques, visit some of the area shops before or after the tea.

New website & Insta ... check it out!

We are very excited to announce the launch of our newly designed website. Visit us at

After several months of hard work, we officially launched the site June 1, which is faster, easier to navigate, and more user-friendly.

We will still provide members with the most accurate, up-to-date information and share our knowledge and expertise in the area of tea.

Our goal with this new website was to have more and easier ways to join and better access to information on our upcoming events and teas.

We would also like to thank our amazing committee members who donated their time and energy to make this site what it is, and our web partner, Flash Avenue Website Designs.

We have an Instagram page at royalteaclubyork.

Or visit the new website and click on the Instagram button. We want this account is to foster improved communication with members.

A Job Well Done

Since the start of the club in 2005, Suzanne Krause was our web administrator. She posted over 250 teas and over 60 newsletters on the web site. Now, after 16 years of service, Suzanne is retiring as web administrator. Her help was invaluable in growing the club and keeping us informed of events. We thank her for a job well done and wish her well as she pursues her interests.

About the Club

In the heart of Southern Pennsylvania, Maryland, and Virginia, The Royal-tea Club has been a cherished tradition for over 15 years. the organization was established by a group of women whose objective was to provide gathering events for other individuals for cultural and intellectual pursuits, while enjoying a nice cup of tea. Women of diverse interests and talents come together to foster friendships, promote the arts, and enjoy various speakers. Variety is the spice of life, so we visit a variety of tea rooms, throughout Pennsylvania, Maryland, and Virginia. Our past trips have taken us to tea rooms in England, Scotland, Ireland, Connecticut, Georgia, Massachusetts, New Jersey, Rhode Island, North Carolina and South Carolina.
